Housecleaner FAQ
“How long have you been a housecleaner?” I’ve done 5 Star housecleaning for vacation rentals for 5 years, and am now working solo.
“Is there any special training you’ve received?” Yes, in my previous job cleaning vacation rentals I received training, including OSHA training.
“Do you have any references?” Yes, on request.
“Can I be home while you clean?” Yes
“Can you clean while I’m gone?” Yes.
“I work from home, will you interrupt me chatting all the time?” I respect my clients needs. If you don’t want to be disturbed while you work, just let me know.
“Is it ok if my kids are in the room with you while you clean?” No. While I love kids, they’ll slow me down, and possibly undo what I’m cleaning as I’m cleaning.
“Is it ok if my pets hang out with you while you clean?” No. While I love pets, I’m a stranger in their house moving things and using a vacuum and it may scare them.
“Are you bonded and insured?” Yes.
“Do you give discounts?” Yes, I give a 10% discount on the next standard clean with a successful referral. A successful referral is one that results in a new client with at least 2 cleans a month scheduled regularly.
“Do you accept tips?” Tips are always appreciated.
“Will you show up sick?” No. I will call and reschedule.
“Will you clean while someone in my home is sick?” No, in the case of someone being sick, please call and reschedule. If I arrive to clean your home, and someone there is sick, the clean will be cancelled and rescheduled.
“Will you need a key or code to access my home?” I will need whatever is required to access the property, including the ability to text you if something goes wrong.
“Do you protect my key/code?” Yes. Details on request.
“Are you the person coming to clean my house?” Yes.
“How do you prefer to be contacted?” E-mail or text please.
“Are you insured if something breaks?” Yes.
“Are your cleans guaranteed?” Yes. All items agreed to on the checklist by the client and myself will be cleaned, or, if the item cannot be cleaned in the amount of time agreed on or due to unforeseen circumstances, it will be noted on the worksheet and addressed in a future clean.
“Will you talk about me or the condition of my house to others?” No. I respect the privacy of you and your home on and off social media. I may ask your permission to post pictures of completed cleans for my portfolio.
What is your policy regarding holiday decorations? Out of respect for my clients, I do not clean any holiday decorations, including Christmas Trees, due to accidental breakage concerns.
What happens if a scheduled cleaning day falls on a holiday? Your scheduled clean will be moved to the next regularly scheduled day, unless you request to be fit in an opening, pending availability.
Do gift certificates cover specialty cleans? Gift Certificate cleans cover the amount of time paid for. The recipient decides what will be cleaned in that amount of time. However, items that cost an extra fee, such as clean refrigerators, may be excluded at my discretion.
